Our next meeting will be Thursday, 11/4 from 9-11 a.m. We'll be covering the last part of section 1 from our book. If you don't get a chance to read the pages, COME ANYWAY! We want to see you.

We'll also be compiling our Operation Christmas Child boxes so don't forget to bring the goodies you signed up to bring. We need shoeboxes, please bring them if you have them. We'll pack the boxes all together.

Off with a bang

Our first meeting started off great. We saw lots of returning Moms and met many new ones. We're so blessed to have such a great group of ladies to come together and support one another as we go through the daily challenges of being a Mom. We laughed as we shuffled around the room telling which chore we disliked most growing up (dusting) and which we preferred - Wal-Mart or Target (Go Angela!). Then we figured out how many different ways we are both artists and scientists in our parenting. We use all kinds of ways to connect with our kids. Some are a success and some may be failures, but hopefully we've had fun & learned something along the way. Our kids probably won't remember the results of your experiment, but they will remember the experience.

Did you miss our 1st meeting? It's not too late. Join us this Thursday, 9/16 at 9:00 a.m. at Champion Fellowship Church for our next meeting. Thanks to the Helium Hotties for bringing breakfast this week. We're looking forward to seeing you!

Rockin' Relay for Life

Some of the Survivors we celebrated.

Everyone who participated in Relay for

Life has had their life touched in some way by cancer.

Mitzie's Mom, Pat was especially in all of our hearts.

These girls aren't just cute in their 80's side ponies, blue eye shadow, & leg warmers, they also raised $3000 for Relay and many of them walked all night long.

"Hit me with your best shot" by Pat Benatar was the 80's song we adapted for our theme.

We had Survivors stop by and sign their name on our

"Wall of Fame."

We gave each Survivor their moment of fame as Mitzie announced their name and how long they had been fighting their particular cancer. They were then dressed up with a boa.

Cancer knows no age or gender.

There were a lot of purple shirts.

There were even more lumaniaries lit in honor & memory of those battling.
A big thanks to those who donated, help set up, take down, walked, & built.

You helped make a difference.

Our group decided to continue getting together the first and third Thursdays of each month at Fireman’s Park from 9-11. Very informal—-just bring your kids and enjoy some time with friends! Thank you for blessing the Ocanas’family as they are dealing with the loss of their baby. That is what we are all about! Love, Mitzie

Mitzie just talked to Larissa. Tomorrow she's taking Liam to Houston for testing that will require him to be under anesthesia for quite a while, something that's caused trouble for him in the past. Please keep Liam and the medical staff and his family in your prayers.

Good news!

Hi, friends--

Tina called last night and asked that we share some good news on the blog. Her dad's scans show that while the tumor is still present, he is in remission. What a miracle! She also shared that her Social Security hearing process has begun, which is also good news. Please continue to keep Tina and her family in your prayers.

Odds and Ends, Important Stuff!

Announcements, announcements, annouuuuuuuuuuuncements:

-The next meeting on our calendar is March 25th (week after Spring Break). We will be meeting at the church w/ moppets as usual. Moms are asked to bring a bag of plastic eggs and one bag of individually wrapped candy.

-The next meeting is April 1st and will be at Fireman's Park for the egg hunt and carousel.
